A dash cam only earns its keep when it is wired in properly. Every dash cam installation at our Croydon workshop in the Swift Centre, just off Purley Way, is hardwired with the cable routed behind trim, pillars and headlining, exactly like the install in the photo above: camera tucked snug behind the mirror, nothing trailing across the glass, nothing hanging near your knees. It looks factory because it is fitted like it is.
Hardwiring also unlocks parking mode, so the camera keeps watch while the car sits on the drive, outside work or on a South London street overnight. Every parking-mode install goes through a voltage cut-off that monitors the battery and shuts the camera down before it can flatten it. Guard duty all night, and the car still starts first time in the morning.
Front and rear coverage is what settles arguments. One clip proves who pulled out, speeds an insurance claim through and is the best defence going against crash-for-cash setups. We can supply and fit a camera matched to your car and budget, or hardwire a unit you already own to the same standard. Cars, vans and fleets are all welcome.
Before you drive away we finish the job properly: format the memory card, set the resolution and parking-mode sensitivity, pair the camera to the app on your phone and show you how to pull a clip when you need one. Because the day you need the footage is a bad day to learn the menus.

A camera powered from the 12V socket leaves a cable trailing across the dashboard, blocks the socket for everything else and switches off with the ignition. Hardwiring feeds the camera from the fusebox, so the cable disappears behind the trim, the socket stays free and the camera can record in parking mode while the car is locked. It looks factory and it works harder.
No, because every hardwired install goes through a voltage cut-off. The device monitors your battery while the car is parked and cuts power to the camera the moment the voltage drops to a set threshold, long before the battery is too low to start the engine. You get overnight protection without ever worrying about a flat battery.
Yes. Bring the unit and we will hardwire it with the same hidden cable runs and battery protection as a supply-and-fit job. We will also check it powers up correctly, set the time and settings, and pair it to the app on your phone before you leave, so footage is there when you need it.
Some UK insurers offer a discount for cars with a dash cam fitted, and many accept dash cam footage as evidence when settling a claim. Policies vary, so check with your insurer before you buy. Even without a discount, clear footage can protect your no-claims bonus by proving a collision was not your fault.
A front camera is usually fitted within a couple of hours. A front and rear install takes longer because the rear cable is routed through the headlining and door grommets to the tailgate, so allow around half a day. Wait with a coffee or drop the car with us, and we will message you when it is ready.
A properly installed dash cam should not affect your manufacturer warranty. We take power from approved fusebox connections using piggyback fuse taps rather than cutting into factory looms, and everything we add can be removed without a trace. If your vehicle is leased or under a service plan, we are happy to explain the install method before we start.
