Window tinting is where Carology started. Before the wraps, the audio builds and the security installs, this was a tinting operation, and it is still the job we are asked for more than any other in Croydon. Every car gets the same treatment: film cut and shrunk to each pane of glass, edges trimmed clean, no bubbles, no gaps, no peeling corners.
Most customers come for two things: privacy and heat. Dark rears keep prying eyes off child seats, tools and whatever else lives in your car, and a good film knocks the summer greenhouse effect on the head. If heat rejection is the priority, our ceramic film blocks a serious share of infrared heat and UV, unlike the cheap dyed film that turns purple and bubbles within a couple of years.
We fit to UK law, not around it. Front side windows must let at least 70 percent of light through and the windscreen 75 percent; behind the driver, anything goes, from a light smoke to full limo black. We will tell you straight what is legal on your car before any film goes near the glass, so there are no problems at an MOT or a roadside check.
Drivers come to the Swift Centre, just off Purley Way, from right across South London because tinting done properly looks factory: shades matched across every window, edges you have to hunt for, and film that still looks the same years later. We tint headlights and tail lights too, and strip out old bubbled film when a previous shop has made a mess of it.

Yes, within limits. The law says the front side windows must let at least 70 percent of light through, and the windscreen at least 75 percent. Rear side windows and the rear screen can be as dark as you like. We fit legal film on the fronts and any shade you want behind the driver, so the car stays fully road legal.
Most customers go for a medium or dark shade on the rears for privacy, with the fronts left legal. If you mainly want the look, darker limo-style rears are popular. If heat and glare are the priority, a lighter ceramic film can reject more heat than a dark dyed one. Tell us what matters most and we will show you samples on your own glass before we fit anything.
Standard dyed film darkens the glass but does little against heat, and cheap versions fade to purple and bubble over time. Ceramic film uses nano-ceramic particles that block a large share of infrared heat and UV without interfering with phone signal or electronics. It costs more, but it keeps its colour, keeps the cabin cooler and is the film we recommend if you plan to keep the car.
Yes, and the film type decides by how much. Any tint cuts glare and blocks most UV, which protects trim and passengers. A quality ceramic film goes much further, rejecting a significant portion of the sun's infrared heat, so the cabin heats up more slowly and the air con works less. On a black car parked outside all day, the difference is genuinely noticeable.
A rear-only package is usually done in a couple of hours, and a full car within half a day, so most cars are in and out the same day. We shrink and trim each piece of film to the glass, clean everything back and fit with the door cards protected. The film cures fully over a few days, which is normal.
Yes. We strip old, bubbled or purple-faded tint properly, using heat to lift the film and then removing every trace of adhesive from the glass, including over rear demister lines where careless removal causes damage. Once the glass is clean we can fit fresh film the same visit, or simply leave the glass clear if you are removing an illegal front tint.
